NICHE is a research group at Radboud University Nijmegen Medical Centre. It seeks to strengthen international health systems through policy-relevant and empirically-based research and education.

NICHE was established in 2007, and now hosts some 15 researchers from both the Netherlands and low-income countries. US$16-95 to exempt one person from health insurance premium in Ghana

Poor people can be identified on the basis of their income, their assets or by community welfare rankings. NICHE has shown in Ghana that, although incurring high survey costs, income measures are more efficient and equitable. In very poor areas, strategies that provide exemptions to all are optimal.
